How I teach

I'm Leriem Ferhat, and I teach maths because I love the subject. I've been the one explaining things since I was the older sister helping with homework, and sharing how I see maths is the part of this I enjoy most.

My lessons are conversational. We talk the whole way through, because that's how I work out how a student is actually thinking — and once I know that, I can teach it their way rather than mine. Some students need to see it, some want it explained, some need to know where it came from and what it's for.

I'd rather a student got there by exploring the maths than by following a textbook method they can't explain.
